Terms of Service

1. About these terms

These terms apply when you use Bandword (bandword.com). By using Bandword, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Bandword is

• An AI tool that coaches you through IELTS Writing answers and checks your writing.
• Band scores on Bandword are estimates for learning only. They are not official IELTS scores, which only certified examiners can give.
• We do not guarantee any result in your real IELTS exam.
• Bandword is independent. It is not linked to or endorsed by the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia or Cambridge University Press & Assessment. IELTS is their registered trademark.

3. Your account

• Use a real email address you can access.
• Keep your login safe. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• One account per person.

4. Credits and payments

• New accounts may get a free AI check. After that, you buy credit packs.
• One coaching = one guided answer with the AI Tutor. Once a coaching session starts, that credit is used, even if you leave before finishing.
• One check = one AI marking of a piece of writing.
• Credits belong to the account you are logged in to, not to the email used at checkout.
• Credits are for personal use only. They cannot be transferred, resold or exchanged for cash.
• Prices are shown before you pay and include applicable taxes.
• Payments in India are processed in Indian rupees by Razorpay.
• Payments from outside India are processed by our international payment partner, which acts as the reseller (merchant of record) for those orders. Its buyer terms also apply to those purchases.

5. Refunds

All purchases are final, with a few exceptions. See our Refund Policy.

6. Fair use

Please do not:

• share your account or resell access
• use bots, scripts or automated tools to access Bandword
• try to break, overload or copy the service
• submit harmful, illegal or abusive content

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Your writing

You own the writing you submit. You allow us to process it only to provide the service, as explained in our Privacy Policy.

8. AI limitations

AI feedback can sometimes be wrong or incomplete. Please use your own judgement, and treat Bandword as a practice tool.

9. Changes to the service

We may improve, change or pause features. We will try to give notice of major changes.

10. Limitation of liability

Bandword is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for indirect losses, such as exam results or missed opportunities. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and Indian courts have jurisdiction. This does not take away any consumer rights you have under the laws of your own country.

12. Changes to these terms

If we update these terms, we will change the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use Bandword means you accept the updated terms.
